Paphos was the capital of the island in Roman times, here was born Aphrodite, Goddess of Love and Beauty. Paphos is situated on the southwest coast of Cyprus. Kato, is the main tourist area of Paphos, which has a lot of archaeological sites. The oldest town of Paphos is Ktima, situated on a rocky plateau. Paphos is very rich in banana plantations, citrus groves and vineyards, which reach the foothills of the western Troodos Mountains. Paphos is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, for its ancient sites dating back to the 4th Century BC. |
